CodecMOD is a package of Codecs and adjustments to play correctly mediafiles in Windows Media Player, and must be installed in addition to K-Lite.
100% removeable via its unistaller (all keys of regedit will return to the previous value)
This package include an icons pack for more extension of mediafiles, default installation will intall all icons, if you do not want thes options please uncheck at the next screen.
To add/remove components or icons, please run the unistaller (shortcut is in start menu) then will appears a screen managements component.

K-Lite is the best in the world codecs pack, however it is not properly configured for use with Windows Media Player probably because fewer and fewer people use Windows Media Player as default player, and because the player Microsoft uses its details rules (K-Lite's authors rightly recommend to use Media Player Classic for best results).
