Ho notato che il mio Mac Pro alle volte si blocca da solo, raggiunta la soglia temporale preimpostata, alle volte no: da cosa dipende?

Bravissimo, sì, va in stop, e so che le impostazioni si cambiano da "preferenze di sistema" (ho settato lo stop a 30 min), ma quello che è strano è che a volte ci entra in stop, alle volte no: da che dipende?

Probabilmente c'è qualche programma in esecuzione che blocca lo stop del Mac..

Direi! Anche perché se così fosse anche il monitor non dovrebbe andare in stop, invece lo fa regolarmente... quindi cosa può essere, hai altre idee?

Se per "background" alludi a quelle sul dock, beh mi è successo sì, ma è successo che nn andasse in stop anche senza applicazioni aperte lì, quindi non capisco da cos'altro può dipendere...

Fai così, imposta il timer dello stop ad 1 minuto, e non usare il computer.
Se non va in stop dopo il minuto (magari usa il cellulare per renderti conto del tempo trascorso), attendi un altro po' e poi lancia "Console" [cerca con Spotlight], salva il report degli ultimi minuti [Archivio > Salva...] e allegalo qui. Magari si capisce da cosa dipende

Allora... ho provato come mi hai suggerito tu diverse volte e ho notato che va in stop, sì, ma seppur settato sempre a un minuto, lo fa in tempi diversi.

A quanto ho capito io, in stop, il Mac, ci va sempre, solo che viene ritardato in maniera randomica (può stopparsi dopo due minuti come dopo quattro, malgrado la preimpostazione di un minuto). L'applicazione eyeTV Hybrid la ho sempre sul dock (mantenuta). Ora provo a vedere se togliendola da lì la cosa si risolve oppure no. Vi terrò aggiornati. Intanto grazie! ;)

Nulla da fare, anche dopo aver tolto dal dock eyeTV Hybrid, il sistema ritarda nello stop del computer e sempre in maniera casuale. Vi riporto qui a seguire parte del log, relativo all'arco di tempo in cui ho effettuato le prove:

Se fosse Firefox quindi come dovrei procedere? Basterebbe solo rimuoverlo dal dock?

Spike non basta rimuovere dal dock. Ad esempio EyeTv ha un demone che gira in background che, quando viene collegato il tuner, lancia l'applicazione.

Devi lanciare "Monitoraggio attività" ed "uccidere" il processo (quanto mi piace tradurre kill in italiano ), se vedi che così funge ti basta rimuovere all'avvio il demone di EyeTV ed hai risolto.
