Recuperare 85gb su hdd esterno

All'incirca un mese fa durante la formattazione dell'hdd interno, senza che me ne sia accorto ho formattato anche il My Book da 465gb contenente i dati salvati dell'hdd interno per un totale di 85 90gb.

Dato che in questo periodo sto utilizzando moltissimo Ubuntu 8.04, mi chiedevo se ci fossero dei software per il recupero dei dati, all'altezza dei più blasonati per Windows.

Ho provato a dare un'occhiata alle guide su ubuntu.it, ma non sono rimasto soddisfatto, in quanto con questo sistema sono ancora alle prime armi.

Mi affido a voi per qualche consiglio.

Se non ricordo male c'è testdisk che puoi installare graficamente con Synaptic o da riga di comando con:

sudo apt-get install testdisk

Se la partizione è NTFS c'è ntfsprogs (per il quale vale lo stesso discorso per il pacchetto testdisk) la cui descrizione in Synaptic è:

Un po' complicato da utilizzare testdisk. Che software si possono adottare con interfaccia grafica in alternativa a testdisk?

Non lo so, ho sempre usato Testdisk e non ho mai avuto bisogno di altri.
