Io direi che questo basta e avanza per abbassare il mio giudizio su questo firewall! che ne pensate?Quote:
The revocation checks are not performed directly by OA but by Windows as part of normal certificate management. I'm not personally sure precisely how - would have to speak to the right person - but I can tell you rooughly how the system works....
We've bought a Digital Certificate from Globalsign. We use it to sign Online Armor - in this way, the users of Online Armor can be assured that the software really came from us, and has not been tampered with. You can right click on the Online Armor installer - and see it is signed.
This is all great, useful and cool. But what if, for example, someone loads this certificate onto a laptop, or there is a rogue employee somewhere - this person in theory could sign things and claim that it came from us.
That would break the whole scheme of things, right? Luckily, the designers of the system considered that - there's a way built in to revoke the certificate - in other words, to cancel it and say "No, actually, you cannot trust this certificate any more".... of course, you need a central place to check for that - which is the original issuer.
So the revocation check is essentially part of the security. Without it, things get very dangerous.
