Problemi con aggiornamenti di Windows

Salve a tutti,
sta succedendo una cosa strana, ma da un mese a questa parte, non scarico più gli aggiornamenti di windows (l'ultimo risale al 17/09 scorso), eppure ad ogni avvio del pc, mi appare il simbolino nella tray bar (lo scudo giallo col !), che m'avverte che sono disp gli aggiornamenti, ma resta bloccato allo 0%, e dopo 5 minuti scompare, senza aver scaricato niente; anche cliccandoci sopra col mouse, sia destro che sinistro, non da niente, come se non esistesse, ho provato a disattivare il firewall, Kerio, ma niente, poi ho impostato gli aggiornamenti su "automatico, tutti i giorni alle 21), ma non succede mai niente. Ma sapete dirmi perché fa così? eppure fino al 17/09, li ho sempre scaricati regolarmente; ho xp sp2.

Se vai su www.windowsupdate.com e provi a farli a mano, viene restituito qualche codice d'errore?

Niente da fare, neanche manualmente, anzi, facendo la procedura manuale mi si pianta proprio il pc, col download fermo allo 0%, solito discorso...5 minuti e sparisce anche lo scudo giallo, comunque mi dice che sono disponobili 8 agg., 10.3 Mb, ma non me li scarica; per quanto riguarda i virus, ho fatto una scansione con avast, ma non mi ha rilevato niente. Cosa può essere?

Nella cartella windows c'è un file chiamato WindowsUpdate.log, guarda nelle ultime righe quando hai fatto l'aggiornamento e cerca un codice d'errore.

Si, infatti, ho guardato proprio adesso (che sta tentando in questa momento di scaricare gli agg, ma niente come al solito), e in effetti, questo è il risultato dell'ultimo tentativo di connessione, con download fallito per l'ennesima volta:

In effetti, di errori ce ne sono, ma non riesco a capire cos'è che lo manda in errore, Crazycat. Hai qualche suggerimento?

Intanto vai in pannello di controllo - strumenti amministrazione - Servizi e vedi se il Trasferimento intelligente in background e il Windows installer sono attivi e in automatico.
Se non lo sono attivali e riprova il windowsupdate

I 2 servizi che mi hai detto ce li avevo su "manuale", comunque li ho messi in "automatico", ho riavviato, ma la situazione è sempre la solita. Non so più che pesci prendere.

Tutti gli errori che trovo come il tuo mi rimandano a problemi con il Bits, il servizio che ti ho fatto controllare.
Prova a vedere se ti lascia scaricare e installare queste due patch

Windows installer

Riavvii e riprovi il windowsupdate e poi riposta il finale di quel file per vedere se è cambiato qualche codice d'errore.
