Ho provato a fare un disco floppy di boot (con le indicazioni reperite smanettando in internet):
ho copiato dal cd di XP Home
NTDETECT.COM
Setupldr.bin (rinominando un altro file che era nel CD di XP home col nme NTLDR)
Poi ho scritto:
[boot loader]
timeout=30
Default= multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\windows="Windows XP"
salvando il tutto e chiamando il file Boot.ini
Ho messo tutto su un floppy, ho acceso il computer e… è uscita la scritta di rimuovere il floppy e premere un tasto, per ripartire con la solita schermata:
“

Or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot Device and press a key
”
Per completare il quadro aggiungo che il masterizzatore DVD non dà segni di vita.
