Introduction
Well, this is the first character I
make completely by myself for MUGEN, the reason for why I started this
proyect was that in all the WEB there was no Wolverine that worked well and
they where only modification out of dragman's char, that actually I don't
like its gameplay.
I think that in this point this character
is very cool within gameplay and graphics, but even thou ill keep working on
him to make him even better and maybe put him some striker or helpers.
What's this?
This character is based on Wolverine
from Marvel vs. Capcom, Marvel Super Heroes, X-men vs. Street Fighter,
X-men Mutant Academy, Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter and other
games in which he has appeared adapted for Elecbyte's 2D fighting engine
called M.U.G.E.N.
What's new?
Since the 2.25 version is the first one
to have a "read-me" file in english, I can't tell you whats new but only
to tell you that everything is new for english speakers. ^_^
Its not that I haven't updated
this file (2.25 to 3.0??!!) but since I made the 2 diferente constants
to be just in one file and to modefy it very much I decided that I
had upgraded it to the next level (version 3.0) Now you select the
fighting X-tyle by presing any button, and if you want to choose the
Marvel vs Style you have to press Start plus any button.
Ok, now on the 3.25 version, I
have corrected the "X shine" movement, I just had to explode it a
little bit up and expand it a little bit more. the summersault kick
is once again the same thing, I have included the stab combo but maybe
what you would notice and like more is the Sabretooth's Berserker
tecnique. Oh! yeah I was forgeting the drill claw stab in the wall
has been corrected.
In the version 3.5 you can change
the winning frases to English if you change "wolverine.air" for
"wolingles.air", also the "Stab Combo" and the "Down Asault" are
available now, you can combo-cancel hypers (level 1) to another,
allowing you to make you own combo style, thou your atack power
lowers when you cancel them. The Sabretooth's Berserker doesn't works
correctly versus 2 chars.
I added some sparks in the 4.0
version that make him look a little more cool, also it takes more hits
to get to the 12345 dizzy points, and the healing factor resets the
counter to cero, I have corrected the AI(version 3.2), now the Marvel
and the X-tyle have a lot of diferences. I added Recovery Roll
tecnique and modify the Fatal Claw for the "X sign" to be independent
(it continues been unhable to be guard pushed) but at least you can
use it to make combos.
The 4.25 has a lot of changes
in the Hyper's commands (ex. the Sabretooths Berserker Claw cant
be canceled where it shouldn't, and the AI doesn't make the Aereal
Fatal Claw in the ground), I also changed the Fenix Down code (I think
it work at a 100%), the Air recovery was shortened and the guardpush
now works correctly, the final move in the WeaponX was modify a little,
the the jumping animations are faster, I changed the priority in some
moves upon othres (the infinity counter is no longer completely
invulnerable, and the dive kicks are only if you hit the enemy more
than 1 time), with the Parry you now have more chance to counter
atack the enemy.
In the matter of other FX, I added
the dust and blue dots trace in the super jump (I also included
the hyper's charging lines frames, but i haven't programed them). the
Berserker Claw in the Speed up, is totally diferent than in normal,
the vels in the drill claw where recalibrated and the attacks in the
Tornado Claw now look better. The "explodes" in the Healing factor
now are binded to Wolverine, the Steel kick in "Wolverine X-tyle" and
the Berserker Barrage X in the "Marvel Style" send the enemy across
the screen (this last one doesnt do that in the "Wolverine X-tyle"
because it can be hyper-combo-chained), has you can see i made alot
of changes but wait for more...
We are almost at the final version of
Wolverine X2, for the 4.5 version I remade the speed up timer, I also changed
the "explode" stuff, now they are not afected by any color change and they do
not stop if afected by hit's pause(I discovered this error while changing the
Parry time), the animation of the WeaponX now has more sprites and the final
attack of it is now unstopable. The stab combo no longer goes of time, the hyper
lines is more acurate. and the drill claw now has some more sprites in the
begining to delay the attack.
There are also more sprites in the .sff, for
example the standing and crouching animations now have more sprites, and some
attacks have more sprites that i hadn't found before, the ticks time is now
more like the Arcade, this means that they are slower but the good news about it
is that the power bar gets filled the same way than in the Marvel Vs. Capcom
game (the normal, special, and other moves power has not been checked yet, but
I'll put them for the next version), also the drill claw when you get to the
wall has more sprites in the animation.
The 4.75 version has several modifications
but the one that sufered more changes is the slice Claw now you can charge
the atack during 200 tick if you keep pressed the kick buttons, and if you
know how to use it, you can aboid several enemy atacks and counter attack
at the same time, even more the hit launches the enemy to the other side
of the screen, and its easier to chain in combos.
I added the charging spark of the hypers,
I remade the animation of the "time" in the speed up that now look a lot better
(weird thing is that it only need 4 sprites intead of 60, that if had before).
The weapon X turns the enemy if you hit it by the back. the tornado claw only
gives 7 hit max, I also changed several "axis" from the "required sprites" for
them to work better. The summer Sault leaves you unprotected by a moment,
but you get control of hit after a little time.
Since I didn't upload the last update, and
since I have had time, I changed and added a great deal of stuff, por example
the Barrage X was totally remade, and now it look better, but do you remmember
that if you make the WeaponX with less than 250 point of life you make the
Hyper Weapon X?, well, now it also exist the Hyper Berserker Barrage X that
attack during more time. A similar modification sufered the Berserker Barrage X
of The Final Weapon but it hits more times.
Also now you have the Hyper Samurai Slice,
that is invulnerable in the charging pose and gives two lethal hits to your enemy,
The Hyper Sabretooth's Berserker is completely unstopable, maybe the one you'll
not notice the changes is the Hyper Fatal Claws that gives the doble of
hits than the normal. But thats not all, you can take Wolverine X2 to a new
level with the ability to hyper-combo-cancel, which means that you can chain
the Hypers with other Hypers.

there are 2 styles, "Marvel vs" style & "MUGEN" style?
Wolverine can get dizzy if you get over 12345 hitpoints?
During the Berserker Slash you are invulnerable?
the "M.U.G.E.N. style" is also know as the Wolverine X-tyle?
Now (ver. 3 ) the fighting style changes if you press Start or not?
... in Wolverine X-tyle...
you can air recover after almost any attack?
you have an Auto Healing Factor while you "relax"?
you have a FenixDown that activates if you are killed guarding with lv 1?

What's left?
Im going to put him some new
random intros and text intro against some characters, also Im thinking in
including some more new special an hyper tecniques. maybe also some helpers
even thou that now its a very devastating char but to make him even more.

include in future version and they are FREGALITY

and the TAG-TEAM Hypers Tecniques that use
2 levels because the 2 character make the attack, and also normal helpers
the "help you" during the fight more to the style of Marvel vs. Capcom, till
now the characters that will possibly be in are Felicia (DobleWeaponX),
Rogue (Barrage X2, Optic X, Goodnight MARE, others) Magneto (Fatal Magnetic
tempes, Shock Wave Claw, and the "come-over-here" energy la "energia") Venom
(any idea what to call a move?) and the Master of Masters Ryu
(FatalShoryuken, shin ha ken, WRA!).

While learning how to make a mugen character
I used several characters as reference to create Wx2, Even I didn't uses their complete
coding but I actually used them as base to create the tecniques, and I think they
deserve their credit.
